What are the different types of UAE visas to live, work and visit?
Golden Visa to live and work in the UAE
The Golden visa, which was introduced in 2020, grants 10-year residency to foreigners without requiring a local sponsor. This visa also provides full ownership of businesses. Multi-Entry Tourist Visa
Introduced in March 2021, it permits tourists to enter the UAE multiple times during a calendar year for up to 90 days at a time, with a maximum stay of 180 days per year. This visa does not require a sponsor, but applicants must prove a bank balance of US$4,000 six months prior to applying.
Visit Visa for the UAE
It allows individuals to visit a relative or friend who is a resident in the UAE with no sponsor required. A deposit is required, along with a document proving the relationship and reason for the visit.
Temporary Work Mission Visa
This visa is suitable for temporary workers on projects or probationary periods. This visa requires a temporary work contract, medical test, and agreement from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), subject to the worker’s status.
Business Exploration Visa

The Job-Seeker Visa
This permits individuals to come to the UAE without a sponsor to explore work, investment, and business opportunities. Applicants who have graduated from the top 500 universities in the world with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent can apply for this visa.
Medical Treatment Entry Visa
The Medical Treatment Entry visa is available through sponsorship of a licensed UAE medical establishment. This visa requires a certified medical report and letter from the sponsored establishment, as well as medical insurance and a deposit.
Study Visa
This visa can be sponsored by educational, training, or research institutions in the UAE for students or PhD candidates.
Transit Visa
The Transit visa is a 48-hour free-of-charge visa and a 96-hour visa for Dh50. It is not extendable and can only be issued by UAE-based airlines.
Diplomatic Affairs Visa
This visa is issued to holders of diplomatic, special, and UN passports and can be issued by UAE embassies and consulates outside the country.
